Role Description:
Experienced Security Systems Engineer and Analytics Specialist required to develop and enhance ASD ICT security systems. The service provider will be responsible for engineering activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. This role will include responsibility for implementation of major analytic-driven activities to meet required business outcomes.
Major Responsibilities:
Execute systems engineering tasks in the design, development, deployment and sustainment of security capabilities.
Develop complex analytics across large and varied datasets to achieve insights and answer security-based business requirements.
Deliver technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers.
Establish use cases, procedures and technical documentation to ensure delivery of security services.
Engage with stakeholders to confirm that services meet the service acceptance criteria and are to the required standard.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Proven knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies.
DESIRABLE: Experience with ICT security applications such as a SIEM (e.g. Arcsight, Splunk), and data analytic platforms.
DESIRABLE: Experience with Windows and Windows security tools
DESIRABLE: Experience with *nix systems and *nix security tools
Other Features:
The role will be based in Canberra, with minimal travel required
Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
Core Hours:
8 hours per day between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day, unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30 minute break after 5 hours consecutive work.

Role Description:
The resource will be required to represent projects being delivered by the Project Office for the continuous accreditation of systems. They will need to conduct risk assessments and provide security advice and guidance on the application and operation of physical, procedural and technical security controls to support the longer-term business objectives and minimise the risk of internal and external security threats. This body of work will include the production of security documentation as specified by the ISM. The work will involve liaising with system and application managers, IT Security and other respective stakeholders. The work will include a broad range of advisory services covering governance, risk, compliance and cyber topics within moderately-complex environments.
Major Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain security documentation for ICT solutions being delivered by the project office in accordance with the ISM and ACSC Guidelines.
Update corporate information security documentation to reflect changes introduced by ICT solutions being delivered by the project office.
Conduct security risk assessments and provide advice and guidance on the application and operation of physical, procedural and technical security controls to support the longer-term business objectives and minimise the risk of internal and external security threats.
Assist project staff in designing and advising on the ICT security aspects of solutions that provide appropriate levels of resiliency, availability, reliability, and performance.
Interpret security policy and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines.
Provide skills transfer to technical staff as specified by Department of Home Affairs.
Provide other deliverables in the form and manner, and within the timeframes, specified by Department of Home Affairs.
Other Features:
The role may be based in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. Canberra is preferred. Roles based in Melbourne and Sydney will be expected to be able to travel to Canberra as required.
