Role Description:
As the Cyber Engagement section’s body of work increases, we are seeking eager Cyber Project Support Officer to join our high-performing and fast paced ICT cyber security team.
The applicant must have knowledge and experience in:
procurement activities including contract management
good understanding of DevOps to track program related work
working with stakeholders across a department agency to drive change
the Essential Eight
The Project Support Officer will contribute the to the below cyber program activities:
Essential Eight maturity uplift project – lifting the departments Maturity to Level 2 by 2025.
The Application Risk Profile (Part of the Cyber Risk Transformation project) – assisting in conducting a discovery exercise to determine system owners so an assessment can be conducted of Medium/HIGH risk systems.
Cyber Security Responsibilities - working with system owners to understand their roles and responsibilities. Working with divisions/branches to set up awareness sessions.
Ad hoc project related work as necessary, such as procurement, project governance and reporting, hosting meetings on behalf of the Program Manager, secretariat type duties and assisting to build work plans and schedules.
The candidate must have experience in IT project related roles with strong demonstrated knowledge of how to work in a government agency and cyber to deliver this work.
Essential Criteria:
5 years’ experience working in an IT project management or project support role in a government agency.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, in particular working directly with IT areas and presenting to a large audience.
Ability to develop strong productive relationship, communication skills and issue resolution.
Must have experience in cyber projects
Working Arrangements:
Canberra based is required. Flexibility can be given if the individual has the ability to work from home 1 to 2 days a week.

Role Description:
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water has a requirement for an Project Technical Officer to support the delivery of a major ICT project for the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD). As Project Technical Officer you will ensure that the technical support within a project, during change manage and transition of the project to Business as Usual (BAU on project closure is delivered in a professional manner.
Essential Criteria:
Successful management and delivery of ICT related projects and/or large corporate ICT transformation programs and an ability to adapt to and work across various delivery methodologies (such as waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
Experience with hardware installation and hardware maintenance of IT infrastructure and equipment, including servers, routers, switches, VoIP equipment, computers and peripherals, and wireless network equipment, including associated copper and optic-fibre structured cabling.
Experience with RF, 4G LTE or Satellite communications systems equipment and installation, with a strong understanding and practical experience of RF system components and supporting equipment.
Provide guidance and leadership to a multi-disciplinary project team, 3rd party vendors, and/or other departmental teams to deliver projects.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience with software systems including installation, administration, development and testing.
An Open Cabling Licence with optical, coax and structured (O, C & S) endorsements.
Understanding of Antennas and associated cabling/feeder systems and familiarity of masts and associated hardware.
Working Arrangements:
There will be a requirement to work on site (AAD, Kingston Tasmania) for minimum 3 days a week. Flexible or remote work is limited due to the need for physical presence to facilitate technical work.
