Role Description:

Role Description:
Operational Engineering Branch within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), are responsible for delivering cutting edge capabilities to support ASD’s Signals Intelligence, Cyber and Enterprise requirements.

Major Responsibilities:
Design and communication of high level structures to enable and guide the design and development of an integrated systems solution that meets current and future business needs.
Guide decision making of complex system solutions. Complex either in their depth (e.g. algorithmic uniqueness, multi-threading, API perfection, performance), in their wider interactions (e.g. services & integrations, systems thinking), or consider non-functional requirements to be effective (e.g. scale, resilience, security).
Produce detailed component specifications and translate these into detailed designs for implementation.
Validation and verification of existing requirements, capturing any new requirements and managing these requirements during the capability delivery phase.
Assess risk, and measure compliance with policies and standards. Understand the implications of new technologies.
Ensure the project deliverables are in alignment to the customer and organisation’s strategic direction and other related projects.
Work cohesively and flexibly with the broader program teams, and manage the expectations of key business partners and stakeholders.

Role Description:
This RFQ is seeking contractor support for Systems Engineer roles in support of a number of DEF100 Capability Elements. If all DEF100 positions are filled, and there are suitable candidates still available, this RFQ may be used by the GEOINT Capability Delivery Program and other Branches within AGO to fill relevant vacancies. The Systems Engineer will be accountable under broad direction to lead complex activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. The role will need systems engineering skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical and non-technical personnel. Major Responsibilities:
Work with project managers, product owners, business analysts and senior customers on the design of integrated ICT solutions that support organisational outcomes within the constraints of a technology roadmap.
Provide engineering solutions that demonstrate awareness of dependencies and the need to collaborate and integrate with external agencies or partners.
Undertake impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs.
Lead the analysis of complex systems and apply engineering expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.

Role Description:

Role Description:
The Systems Integrator will be accountable under broad direction for the delivery of product management systems for bespoke hardware products. The product management systems surround product tracking and test management, including the capture, storage and presentation of test results for all phases of a product’s lifecycle. Develop complex analytics across large and varied datasets to achieve insights and answer security-based business requirements.
Deliver technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers.
Establish use cases, procedures and technical documentation to ensure delivery of security services.
Engage with stakeholders to confirm that services meet the service acceptance criteria and are to the required standard.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Proven knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies.
DESIRABLE: Experience with ICT security applications such as a SIEM (e.g. Arcsight, Splunk), and data analytic platforms.
DESIRABLE: Experience with Windows and Windows security tools
DESIRABLE: Experience with *nix systems and *nix security tools
Other Features:
The role will be based in Canberra, with minimal travel required
Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
Core Hours:
8 hours per day between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day, unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30 minute break after 5 hours consecutive work.
